Niche Monitor does not use advertising tracking networks, cross-site trackers, or marketing pixels (e.g. Meta Pixel, Google Remarketing, or TikTok trackers). We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to authenticate your account and store your session preferences safely.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites function properly, maintain secure logins, and remember preferences.
We also use browser Local Storage, an HTML5 technology that stores data directly on your local device without automatically sending it across the internet on every HTTP request.
2. Cookie Consent Requirements Assessment
Under Article 5(3) of the European Union ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC as amended) and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR):
Strictly Necessary Exemption: Cookies used solely for the technical transmission of communications or that are strictly necessary to provide an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber (such as user session authentication) are exempt from prior consent requirements (EDPB Opinion 04/2012).
Because Niche Monitor relies exclusively on essential authentication session cookies and local functional state, an intrusive blocking consent gate is not legally required for basic browsing. However, in accordance with best practices and to support any future optional analytics, we provide an interactive Cookie Consent banner allowing you to inspect, accept, or decline non-essential cookies at any time.
